Red Brick Cafe - Brooklyn: Authentic Caribbean Flavors and Cozy Local Vibes

How have I missed this? I’m on this block every week but never tried this Carribean kitchen. Dropped in yesterday because I was in the mood for a hot Jamaican lunch. I ordered the curry goat, because I still haven’t tried cooking this at home. Guys, simply delicious! The steamed veg and pigeon peas and rice, also delish! The place is small and has like 3 places to sit (be warned) but I had myself a lovely time. Adding to my catering options and delivery list. It’s very mom and pop,sales me feel like they were here years ago when my relatives lived locally and from the other patrons, you know they are locally loved! I felt like I had stopped by my favorite aunt’s home and she just so happened to have just cooked curry goat. Down the the napkins, it all gave home cooked (cooked with love) vibes. Will def be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had a small gathering over the 4th of July weekend and ordered a number of large food tray items (jerk chicken, oxtails, curry goat, rice & peas, veggies, and macaroni salad). The food was excellent and Gina (the owner) was very professional and efficient - I honestly could not have asked for a better experience. Our guests kept raving about the food, and a few people asked for the restaurant's contact info at the end of the night. That being said, I highly recommend this place for catering orders and will definitely use them again for my next event.

The food here is amazing especially the jerk chicken and make sure your try the spicy and healthy ginger beer,I'm a regular there every time I'm visiting New York and staying in Brooklyn. Great vibe and very friendly people

A small place that is easy to overlook and you would be sad that you did. The food here is outstanding; they put real effort to make sure each of their dishes is packed full of flavor / seasoning (as any self respecting Caribbean restaurant would!). The staff is very friendly and will happily engage you in conversation during free moments. There are only two things to give you a heads up on. First: Cash only so come prepared for that. And Second: Their seafood dishes are popular and can be bought out quickly so if you want to try their lobster (for example), plan that trip accordingly and maybe call in a phone order in advance!

I am a trinidadian and I spent a short afternoon here with my closest friend for a quick corn beef Bun... yes that's when I reminded of the flavors of the island and I felt compelled to write a review. PROS: -lots of talk very vocal -willing to work with you on payment options(credit , debit or even touchless) [Google & apple pay] -clean -lots of smells and won't smell the trash outside down the way. CONS: -this is runn by what appears to be a family and ... it's kinda a wait for food I'd like to add more but I reccomend this place, makes me proud as an islander to have good food in such a diverse food area near my neighborhood .
